Abstract Submission
Abstract Submittal Abstracts are now being accepted. The deadline for abstracts is February 1, 2006, 6:00 pm (MST). There is a $5 submittal fee per abstract to offset costs for publication and editing which is payable on-line at the Conference Registration website.
To submit an abstract, please email a Word document or rtf formatted text document to: Alan_Titus@blm.gov.
To submit an abstract to the conference, please follow these guidelines:
- Determine whether it fits into the geology or paleontology discipline category and clealry state this in the first line of the document.
- Compose your abstract in Microsoft Word format or as an .rtf format text document. Each abstract must contain the following:
- Title - the title should be all capital letters in bold Times New Roman 12 pt font
- Keywords - select up to five keywords for index searches
- The names and contact information for all of the authors - email addresses must be included). All text in this portion must be in Times New Roman 12 pt font. No more than 10 authors may be listed on a paper. Group names will not be accepted as an author.
- The body of your abstract - The body must be in Times New Roman 12 pt font. The abstract body has a strict 2500 characters limit, not counting spaces. (Your abstract will be sent back for editing if it exceeds 2500 characters.).
- Select your preferred mode of presentation: Oral, Poster, or Either (no preference) and indicate your choice at the end of your abstract document. (Please Note: The program organizers will do their best to fit you into your preferred mode. However, they will override your original mode selection if they feel your paper would fit well in a particular session with other compatible abstracts. The decision of the program organizers is final.)
- Before sending your abstract, please do the following:
- Check the spelling of the abstract’s body and title using your own word processor.
- Read it again and make sure that it is something the whole world should see. (We will not rewrite these for you.)
- You are ready to submit when you have available all of the information listed above. Please attach the Word or rtf document to an email and address it to: Alan_Titus@blm.gov before 5:00 MST, February 2, 2009.
- For your abstract to be accepted you must pay the $5 abstract fee. This fee is payable by check(see below) or credit card at the Conference Registration website.
- If mailing a check, please make payable to Grand Staircase Escalante Partners and mail to:

- Please reference the leading author of the abstract on the check so it can be cross-referenced. If paying on-line proceed to the payment page and pay the submittal fee. An email will notify the conference organizers that the abstract has been paid for. Please reference the leading author of the abstract in your payment checkout.
